Qunari
The Qunari are a race of large, grey-skinned humanoids who follow a strict religious and social philosophy known as the Qun.
The Qunari are native to the islands of Par Vollen and Seheron, distinguished by their immense physical stature, horns, and disciplined society. Unlike the humans of Thedas, the Qunari live under the Qun, a complex system of laws that dictates every aspect of an individual's life, assigning them a specific role based on their aptitude and nature. This rigid structure renders them a formidable military and political force, often leading to prolonged conflicts with the nations of the mainland.
Cultural Beliefs
- The Qun dictates that all individuals must serve the greater good of society.
- Magic is viewed with extreme suspicion, and mages are kept under constant, restrictive guard as Saarebas.
- They do not worship traditional gods, instead focusing on the teachings of their founder, Koslun.
Characters such as Sten have provided insight into the Qunari perspective, often challenging the perceptions held by citizens of Ferelden. While many outsiders view them as invaders or mindless soldiers, the Qunari consider their way of life to be the only path to true order and enlightenment. Their presence remains a significant source of tension across Thedas, particularly regarding their ongoing wars with the Tevinter Imperium.
