Alistair Theirin

Alistair Theirin is a Grey Warden and a central companion in Dragon Age: Origins who eventually discovers his true lineage as the secret heir to the throne of Ferelden.

Raised as a templar initiate by the Chantry, Alistair was recruited into the Grey Wardens by Duncan. He serves as a primary companion to the player character during the Fifth Blight, providing tactical support and moral guidance as they recruit allies like Leliana, Sten, and Wynne to combat the darkspawn threat.

Lineage and Leadership

Despite his humble origins, Alistair is revealed to be the illegitimate son of King Maric Theirin. This heritage places him at the centre of Ferelden politics, forcing him into a complex rivalry with Loghain Mac Tir. Depending on player choices, Alistair can ascend to the throne as King of Ferelden, either alone or alongside a partner, or remain a Grey Warden dedicated to the order.
