Peregrin Took

Peregrin Took, commonly known as Pippin, was a Hobbit of the Shire and a key member of the Fellowship of the Ring who played a significant role in the defeat of Sauron.

Peregrin Took was the son of Paladin Took II and a close cousin to Frodo Baggins. Alongside his inseparable friend Meriadoc Brandybuck, he joined the quest to destroy the One Ring after stumbling upon the conspiracy involving Gandalf the Grey. His journey took him from the Shire to Rivendell, where he was chosen as one of the nine members of the Fellowship of the Ring.

Service to Gondor

During the War of the Ring, Pippin demonstrated great courage despite his small stature. After being separated from the main group, he and Merry were captured by Uruk-hai before escaping into Fangorn Forest. Later, in an act of fealty to Denethor II, he became a Guard of the Citadel in Minas Tirith. He fought alongside Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas Greenleaf during the final battles, eventually returning to the Shire to help lead the scouring against Saruman's forces. He later served as the Thain of the Shire for many years.
