Archangel is the code name for the Deputy Director of the Firm, a clandestine intelligence agency that serves as the primary liaison for the Airwolf project.

Archangel, whose real name is Michael Coldsmith-Briggs III, acts as the primary contact between the United States government and the crew of Airwolf. Operating under the authority of the Firm, he is responsible for overseeing the helicopter's deployment and ensuring the craft remains under the control of the intelligence community rather than falling into enemy hands.
