Michael Knight

Michael Knight is a former police detective turned field agent for the Foundation for Law and Government who operates as a lone crime fighter alongside an artificially intelligent automobile.

Formerly known as Michael Arthur Long, the character was a police officer who was critically wounded in the line of duty. He was rescued and reconstructed by the Foundation for Law and Government, an organisation led by Wilton Knight. Given a new identity and face, he became the primary operative for the foundation, dedicated to upholding justice for those who cannot help themselves.

Partnership with KITT

Michael Knight is best known for his partnership with KITT, a highly advanced, artificially intelligent sports car. Together, they tackle high-stakes investigations and criminal enterprises across the United States. Throughout his missions, he relies on the technical support of Devon Miles, as well as the engineering expertise of mechanics such as Bonnie Barstow and April Curtis.

As a field agent, Michael Knight employs a combination of investigative skills, combat training, and the unique capabilities of his vehicle to resolve complex cases. His role as a lone crusader against injustice remains a central pillar of the Knight Rider series, highlighting the bond between human intuition and machine intelligence.
