KITT
KITT is a highly advanced, artificially intelligent automobile that serves as the primary partner to Michael Knight in the fight against crime.
KITT, an acronym for Knight Industries Two Thousand, is a modified 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am equipped with a sophisticated cybernetic processor. Developed by Wilton Knight and funded by the Foundation for Law and Government, the vehicle features a near-indestructible molecular bonded shell and an array of defensive and offensive capabilities, including turbo boost and pursuit mode. It acts as the central asset for Michael Knight as they work under the direction of Devon Miles to uphold justice.
Technical Support and Maintenance
The vehicle requires regular maintenance and technical upgrades provided by the Foundation's engineering team. Throughout its service, the car has been supported by skilled mechanics such as Bonnie Barstow and April Curtis. These individuals ensure that KITT remains operational and capable of handling the high-stakes investigations that define the mission of the Foundation for Law and Government.
Beyond its physical capabilities, KITT possesses a distinct personality and high-level reasoning, allowing it to function as an independent partner rather than a mere machine. This unique human-machine dynamic is a hallmark of the series, enabling the duo to navigate complex criminal cases that would be impossible for a human alone to solve.
