Rocksteady is a mutant rhinoceros who serves as a primary henchman for the Shredder and a frequent antagonist to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Origins
Rocksteady was originally a human street thug and member of a criminal gang in New York City. Alongside his partner Bebop, he was recruited by the Shredder to serve the Foot Clan. Following a failed attempt to stop the Turtles, the duo volunteered for a mutagenic experiment conducted by Baxter Stockman, which transformed them into anthropomorphic animal mutants.
Characteristics
As a mutant rhinoceros, Rocksteady possesses immense physical strength and durability, often acting as the muscle for the Shredder's operations. Despite his formidable appearance, he is frequently portrayed as dim-witted and clumsy, often serving as comic relief alongside Bebop. His signature weapon is typically a machine gun or a heavy combat knife, though he often relies on his brute force and charging ability during confrontations with the Turtles.
