Hamato Yoshi

Hamato Yoshi is a skilled martial artist and the original identity of Master Splinter, who serves as the father figure and sensei to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

History

Hamato Yoshi was a renowned ninja master belonging to the Foot Clan in Japan. Following a rivalry with Oroku Saki, who would later become the Shredder, Yoshi was forced to flee to New York City. Living in poverty, he eventually encountered four baby turtles and a canister of mutagen, which transformed both him and the turtles into their anthropomorphic forms.

Legacy

After his transformation, Yoshi adopted the name Splinter and dedicated his life to training Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo in the art of ninjutsu. He remains a central figure in the lives of the turtles and their ally April O'Neil, guiding them as they defend the city against the machinations of the Shredder and Krang. His teachings form the foundation of the brothers' code of honour and combat proficiency.
