From The Taming of the Shrew wiki

Lucentio

Lucentio is a nobleman from Pisa who arrives in Padua and disguises himself as a tutor to woo Bianca Minola.

Lucentio is a central character in William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, serving as the primary romantic lead in the play's subplot. Upon arriving in Padua to study, he falls instantly in love with Bianca, the younger sister of the headstrong Katherine Minola. To gain access to her, he assumes the identity of a Latin tutor named Cambio, while his servant Tranio poses as Lucentio himself to manage his social affairs.

Role in the Narrative

Lucentio's pursuit of Bianca contrasts with the more aggressive courtship tactics employed by Petruchio toward Katherine. His journey involves complex deceptions and a secret marriage, which ultimately succeeds despite the interference of other suitors. His storyline provides a lighter, more conventional romantic counterpoint to the central conflict between Petruchio and Katherine.
